Christmas Santa's schnapps

Talking about Christmas in the month of May may feel strange to most of us, but for Jimmy Olsson who spices all our schnapps (we have about 30) it is already high time to spice up our incredibly popular Santa schnapps so I popped in and took some pictures.

The various spices, including ginger, bitter orange and cardamom seeds, should be soaked in Absolut vodka, filtered and then stored for at least six months!

Our good friend Jimmy lives a stone's throw from Gästis and his passion for schnapps led him to write a book together with Solweig Olsson called "Seasoning with the Heart". An incredibly beautiful book with many great schnapps seasoning tips. You can find the book with us for 100 SEK!

And he firmly claims that many schnapps go very well with desserts as well, e.g. walnut schnapps for cheese or lavender schnapps for ice cream. Feel free to try!
