At Gästis we are passionate about the Skåne food craft and that certainly includes seasoning our own schnapps. We have about 30 different varieties, all home-seasoned and probably more types of schnapps than any other Skåne restaurant can offer. This interest was sparked by Jimmy Olsson here in Staffanstorp and we now continue to season according to his guidelines. And seasoning is not a rush, it's about patience and aging really enhances the taste!
My dad used to season wormwood bitters from the garden! It turned out incredibly tasty and maybe not really my favorite, but here at our place we have several different kinds of besk, including ladies' besk. And the fun part is to bring in a tray with e.g. 2 cl/glass and get the opportunity to taste several different varieties. For the Easter table, I would choose pors, a mild bitter and Oskar den II's buffet schnapps.
